Nigel Gibbons MBACP (Accred.) | Counselling Therapy Personal Development Supervision |
| |
I am a Registered Accredited BACP counsellor, supervisor and therapist based in Bristol, and I run groups using writing for wellbeing. I am a tutor on Metanoia's MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes course; I've worked as a tutor for Network Training and Counselling; and I've contributed to the Medical Humanities course for medics in Bristol.
I work as a Supervisor for other counsellors.
Over the years I've worked in the media, education, the NHS and been the home parent to my two sons.
I've been writing on and off for most of my life, including doing an MA in Creative Writing. However, recent life events led me to a change of direction resulting in my work using creative writing therapeutically, and my practice as a counsellor.
My personal exploration has included all sorts of writing, poetry, fiction, screenplays; a spiritual journey; and an emotional and personal path that has included the death of my father, and severe illness within my family. I continue to discover more about life and being human every day.
My practice has off-street parking immediately in front of my garage, or space to securely lock a bicycle out of sight. I am near Clifton Down Station, and various bus routes. Whiteladies Road and the Triangle are within walking distance.
You may notice that the web site is based on a black background, this is to help reduce the useage of electricity used when you browse. A search engine, Blackle, does the same thing.
I have insurance as a practitioner through Towergate Professional Risks.
"...although I may have ideas about what may solve a problem, therapy is an exploration and discovery process of finding what will work for the client..." (A. Bohart) |
