What do I offer?

Counselling is about a relationship, one which develops between two people and is unlike most other relationships, because as the counsellor, I am here only for you. I listen as you talk, and in doing so help you reflect, explore and understand yourself and your problems. Thus, I try to work collaboratively with you as much as possible.

I work with a variety of counselling approaches, including talking therapy, CBT and Mindfulness, and will use my ability to help us decide which way of working would be most suitable for you. Not all approaches work for everyone.

Counselling repays the effort and time you put in, your work, with me alongside you, is what can bring about significant change.

Creative Methods

I use creative writing therapeutically, and it may be a part of the counselling, especially if you’re able to work on it in between our sessions. It can provide a way of extending the counselling in, both during the time we’re working together and afterwards, as it can help us live our lives in reflective and constructive ways.

There are also a number of what are called creative ways of working, which can include using objects, drawing, or using Lego, for instance. These are avalaible if we want to use them, but if you don't wish to use these becasue it feels uncomfortable, that is okay.

Therapy is an opportunity to work on things in your life, and to find more satisfying and rewarding ways of living. Research shows that therapy can be very helpful for many people, and that most clients leave counselling feeling much better than when they started. I look forward to meeting you, if you'd like to work with me.
